Covid-19 prevention flexible measures about degree exam and study duration for master’s and doctoral students
- Due to the effect of pandemic, for master’s and doctoral students, their study duration that will expire at the end of the 2nd semester of academic year 2020 will be extended for one more semester until the end of the 1st semester of academic year 2021 automatically.
- Students who have arranged to hold their degree examinations in the 2nd semester of academic year 2020 and are expected to graduate at the same time will be allowed to extend their graduation deadline up to until Oct. 29, 2021, including finishing their degree examination, a thesis review, all graduation requirements (e.g. international students’ Mandarin credits) and school-leaving procedures. Students who finish all foresaid processes will be viewed as graduates of the 2nd semester of academic year 2020 and don’t’ need to pay the tuition fee of the 1st semester of academic year 2021; on the contrary, students who fail to finish all foresaid processes will have to make up the tuition payment of the 1st semester of academic year 2021. Please arrange your oral defense appropriately in order to have enough time to finish the following thesis review and school-leaving procedures in time.
- Master’s students who have gained the admission to our university’s doctoral degree programs are allowed to register as new doctoral students before they are awarded master’s degrees, but they need to provide an affidavit in which they must declare to submit their academic credentials and documents by Nov. 1, 2021 in advance, otherwise their doctoral admission will be revoked and they will be expelled from the university, even though they have registered as new doctoral students.
