Instructions on Digital Degree Certificates and the Digital Credential Wallet

Dear Graduating Students,

Starting from 2:00 p.m. on June 12, 2026 (Friday), after completing all graduation school-leaving procedures, graduating students who collect their Chinese-language paper degree certificate from the Division of Registration will also receive a Chinese-language digital degree certificate via email sent through the Academic Information Systems.

In line with the policies of the Ministry of Digital Affairs (MODA) and the Ministry of Education (MOE), the digital degree certificate contains detailed metadata, enabling graduates to further utilize the Digital Credential Wallet app issued by the Ministry of Digital Affairs. This allows you to conveniently present your degree credentials on your mobile device for employment or further studies in the future. If you also apply for an English-language paper degree certificate, the same functionality will be available for that degree certificate as well.

Step 1: Verify Your Email Address

Please ensure that the email address recorded in the Academic Information Systems is valid and accurate. If you need to update your email address, please log in to the Academic Information Systems and navigate to:

Personal Information → Email address

to modify your email address.

After receiving your digital degree certificate, please keep it secure and use it with caution to prevent unauthorized disclosure of personal information.

Step 2: Download and Verify Your Digital Degree Certificate

Once you receive the notification email containing your digital degree certificate, please download the certificate file.

Please download the file by selecting “Download Attachment” rather than using “Print” → “Save As PDF,” as the latter method may alter the binary code of the certificate file and cause the verification process to fail.

After downloading the certificate, please visit the MOE Digital Certificate Verification System:

https://dcert.moe.gov.tw

Upload your digital degree certificate (PDF file) to verify that the result is “Successful.”

If the verification result is “Failed,” please contact the Division of Registration immediately at:

Tel: +886-3-573-1390
Email:
registra@my.nthu.edu.tw

Step 3: Apply for a Digital Credential

Please visit the Digital Credential Management Center:

https://dcmc.csie.ncku.edu.tw

Select “Credential Application” to apply for your digital credential.

The verification code required for the application can be found in the email containing your digital degree certificate. The code consists of eight randomly generated alphanumeric characters.

After successfully completing the application, download the Digital Credential Wallet app issued by the Ministry of Digital Affairs and add your digital credential to begin using the Digital Credential Wallet.

Notes

Graduates from the former National Hsinchu University of Education (NHCUE) whose student records were maintained in the former NHCUE Academic Affairs System and who enrolled in Academic Year 2016 (AY 105) or earlier are unable to have student-record metadata embedded in their digital degree certificates. Therefore, their certificates cannot be imported into the Digital Credential Wallet.
